Proof House Junction Remodelling

The project is a key railway junction located immediately south of Birmingham New Station with the Stour, Derby, Camp Hill and Vauxhall lines converging at the junction. The scope of the project includes the complete remodelling and resignalling of the junction area, comprising p/way, civil engineering, overhead line, telecoms, signalling and electrical plant works. The project is design and construct, with outline design having commenced in March 1999, construction work culminates in a 19 day blockade in August 2000. The project authority level stands at #36.6m, with a target cost of #32m being delivered by an alliance project comprising Railtrack, Carillion and WS Atkins.
