Sandwood is a small social housing contractor committed to offering both training and upskilling opportunities to its existing staff and apprenticeships to new entrants to the industry. Sandwood has been fully committed to the sustainability agenda and has recently completed its first Demonstration Project at Angela Carter Close in south London.
Sandwood prides itself on its proactive attitude towards training and development which has partly developed in response to the ongoing skills shortage faced by the construction industry. Training and development of all staff is central to our aim of having a highly-skilled workforce that produces high-quality sustainable buildings. Quality workmanship in construction is paramount to meeting the stringent sound and air tightness standards required to reduce CO2 emissions and work towards the Government's target of making all new homes in England carbon neutral by 2016. To this end, Sandwood supports all staff in their ongoing professional development, and particularly in encouraging new entrants into the construction industry.
